10 Things to do When Weight loss seems Difficult Due to Workplace Diets

Is your workplace diets contributing to your weight gain? I noticed that our place of work is a contributing factor to weight gain or weight loss in most people. If you look at the nature of your work, it may make you gain more weight especially for people who sit more in the office or you lose weight for people who walk up and down at their place of work.

I have a friend at our place of work who seems to be gaining more weight because of the nature of her job role of being a secretary. She tend to sit more and her hips keeps getting bigger and broader while the tummy also get bigger too and she felt embarrassed.
 I am writing this weight loss tips because I know that some people might also be facing the same problem and as you read on with this post, we will discussing how to deal with difficult weight loss issues due to wrong workplace diets. 


Having problem with weight loss or losing weight at your place of work might be due to overeating, slow rate of metabolism, slow digestion due to lack of exercises and many more. All these lead to unwanted body metabolism and diets. 


So, what to do when weight loss seems due to work place diet can be corrected by doing the following;


1.    Try to bring your own food or lunch snacks: If you noticed that you are finding it hard to lose weight due to workplace diets or issues, what you need to do is to bring your food or snack along.


It will make you select your own food with less calories, less fat, less sugar, less fat etc. All these are contributors to weight gain or difficulty in losing weight due to weight loss diets.

2. Learn to say no: If you are losing weight due to work place activities or if you find it difficult in losing weight due to your work place diet, you need to try as much as possible to learn to say no to anyone who offer you foods that are rich in fat, sugar or snacks which are high in calories. You can also tell them you are on weight loss plan or diet plan so they won’t offer you more junks. 


3. Keep food off sight: For people who are serious about working on their weight loss and trying as much as possible to correct their work place diet issues, you need to cultivate the habit of not always making your desk filled with food. You can do this by keeping food away from your table so as not to get tempted by eating more.


4. Eat less: One of the ways to ensure you lose weight if you are gaining weight through workplace diets is to try as much as possible to always eat less whenever you are in the office or in your place of work. 



This works for people who have slow metabolism or people who are overweight. You will eat but not much or overfed yourself with more calories which your system won’t be able to digest. 

5.  Stay away from sugary foods: One of the ways to overcome weight gain or getting difficulties in losing weight due to work place diets is to avoid or eat less of sugary foods. My colleague at my place of work who seems to be getting big stomach just stopped taking soft drinks and her belly and other part of the body seems to be going down which is better and healthy.


6.  Walk More: If you are among people who are gaining weight and not losing weight because of the kind of food you eat at your place of work with little or no exercises, you can overcome this by walking more. You don’t need to walk around the office like someone who lose something but you can still wake up early, walk some distance before joining a bus or car to walk or just walk for like 30mins during closing. This works because walking is an exercises that also keep the body fit, it helps get rid of excess fat and improve blood circulation to the body.


7.  Use the stairs more: If you are among people who are gaining weight and not losing weight because of the kind of food you eat at your place of work with little or no exercises, you can overcome this by climbing the stairs more instead of using the lift. You don’t need to just start climbing up and down but at any opportunity you find yourself, use the stairs. This works because stairs climbing is a cardio exercises that also keep the body fit, it helps get rid of excess fat and improve blood circulation to the body.

8.  Like minded friends: These are friends or people who seems to like your ideas. You need to team up with people who are like minded who are refer to as weight loss friends. These are people who will help you grow, people who will motivate you to do more and people who will monitor your weight for you.

9. Select your diets: One of the way to monitor your weight loss success even if your work place is making you gain weight is no other way than to select your diets. Try low fatty food, low sugary foods, go low on snacks, chin chin and junks generally. 


10. Weekend Exercises: If your workplace is making you add more weight or making you get difficulty in losing weight/burning extra fat, you need to try some exercises like skipping, running, jogging, etc. Thanks for reading.

  1. Thanks for sharing this idea, weight loss is something we need to do even if its isn't so easy. My colleague bring food, I eat a lot and I think am getting fatter and she isn't. Workplace diet is a contributing factor which we need to know too.
