What is the exact causes of hypertension? As you read on with this post, we will be discussing the exact causes of hypertension and how to avoid this to stay healthy. As we all know that hypertension which is one of the leading causes of death after cancer is also referred to as silent killer due to the fact that it doesn't show signs and symptoms but the victim just drop dead if the pressure is raised beyond the normal body requirement.

Hypertension doesn't just show on the face or by looking at the body examination but it get detected when an individual visit a doctor and get tested and checked through medical test. But it becomes easier now that we have some test kits that can be used to check and monitor the blood pressure at home.




Hypertension is caused when the blood pressure is too high or higher than the normal blood pressure of the body through the reading of a sphygmomanometer. It causes heart related diseases like stroke, cardiac arrest and other coronary heart diseases which makes it important for us to check our blood pressure regularly either you are a man, woman, young or old.

Back to the question on “what exactly is the cause of hypertension”? The exact cause of hypertension is an increased blood pressure. When the blood pressure is high, it causes a strain on the blood vessels such as arteries, arterioles, muscles and veins and may cause and overstretched of these blood vessels which disrupt the movement of the blood from the heart to other part of the body and may also lead to death.

Other exact causes of hypertension are;

1. Excess alcohol: Excessive consumption of alcohol or alcoholic drinks may cause the blood pressure to get increased and cause hypertension. So, if you are the type that loves to drink alcohol or you an extreme alcohol taker, then you might probably get exposed to hypertension which is deadly.


2. Smoking: Another thing or factor that leads to hypertension is smoking. Addicted smokers are liable to have their blood pressure raised beyond limit which is another exact cause of hypertension. So, if you are the type that loves to smoke or you an extreme smoker, then you might probably get exposed to hypertension which is deadly.

3. Obesity: One of the exact causes of hypertension is obesity. Too much of fat accumulation in the body can lead to blockage of the blood vessels like the arteries and arterioles which lead to hypertension. Possible solution to this is to try as much as possible to get engaged in weight loss program that works fast or that can help get rid of the excess fat in your body.

4. Excess salt intake
: According to research and studies, hypertension is also caused by consumption of excess salt. Salt contains Na ions and Chloride ions which may interfere with heart beat or pressure when in excess. I will suggest you eat less of salt especially if you hypertensive or if you are matured or older in age.

5. Stress; too much of work, overworking and not finding time to rest may also lead to hypertension. If you are fond of working late night without sleep, you could get exposed to high blood pressure.

6. Excess Caffeine: drinking too much of caffeinated drinks like coffee also cause hypertension. Caffeine put pressure on the blood vessels thereby disrupting the activities of the heart. I will suggest you drink less of coffee or caffeinated drinks especially if you hypertensive or if you are matured or older in age.

7. Hereditary; some hypertension are genetically induced which means it is inherited from parents who have hypertension. You need to see your doctor for more medical advice on this and ways of reducing the effect of hypertension especially when it’s hereditary.

8. Child birth: some condition of an increased blood pressure occurs especially in ladies or women during childbirth. Some may be as result of complications while others occur when a woman get induced to give birth. You need to see your doctor for more medical advice on this and ways of reducing the effect of hypertension especially when concern hypertension due to child birth.
