10 Best Diet for Hypertension and High Blood Pressure

One of the deadliest disease in the world that kills people instantly is no other diseases than hypertension which result due to high blood pressure. In many part of the world, hypertension is the leading cause of death in the world but report says that it is mostly acquired due to bad diet, bad feeding habit, excessive stress, too much thinking, shock, childbirth, excess fatty diets and many more. 



But as you read on with this post, i will be sharing some food items and diet that are best used to reduce or maintain hypertension or high blood pressure instead of spending so much money on drugs, therapy and other measures. 

So, the best hypertension or high blood pressure diet that are recommended includes;

1. Fiber foods: examples of fiber foods are cucumber, garden egg, pawpaw, and other fruits which contains high amount of fiber and water. Fiber foods do not contain sugar, salt or fat that can block the arteries but diets such as fiber foods are very good to manage and cure cases of high blood pressure and hypertension respectively.

2. Low Salt foods:  another good hypertension and high pressure diet that are even recommended by doctors are low salt foods. If you have hypertension or your blood pressure is not stable which result to high blood pressure, are low salt foods. For examples, you need to avoid processed foods because they contain so much salt due to preservation, salt licks or food prepared with high amount of salt in them. Salt contain Na ion which interferes with heart operations.

Fresh foods contains natural ingredients and class of foods that keeps the body healthy and most fresh foods contains anti oxidant that remove free radicals form the body and other trace metals. 

5.  Fruits and vegetables: fruits and vegetables are also recommended diet for people living with high blood pressure or diabetic people. Fruits and vegetables especially spinach and pumpkins contains high amount of vitamins that prevent diseases, increases body metabolism and minerals like Iron that helps to supply more blood to the body to ensure regular circulation of blood from the heart, to vascular tissues and to other part of the body.

6. Herbs:  i decided to include herbs as special diet for hypertension and high blood pressure because some are really very good and effective. Examples of herbs that cure high blood pressure or hypertension are sandpaper leaf (a.k.a ewe epin), pear leaf, dongoyaro, bitter leaf and many more. 


7. Skimmed Milk:  Milk is good for people with hypertension especially when the skimmed or when the fat is reduced to the lowest minimum. Animal fat is one of the causes of weight gain but skimmed milk is better, it is high in protein, it helps to build the body and it is also contain calcium to give strength and increases body metabolism.

8. Fish: Fish is also a good diet for people with living or recovering from hypertension and high blood pressure because some do contain low fat unlike Titus and sardine fish that contains fat but that is not good for high blood pressure. Fish is high in protein, it helps to build the body and it is also contain calcium to give strength and increases body metabolism.

9. Grains: these are mainly cereals that contains no fat, sugar and these foods still give energy. Examples are wheat, sorghum, oats, maize, millet, bambara nuts, rice, and many more.

10. Low fat foods:  in general, the best diet for high blood pressure and hypertension are foods which are low in fat. Fatty foods do cause hypertension and high blood pressure while low fatty foods keeps young  healthy and fit without adding too much fat and cholesterol into your body system. Avoid eating any fatty food unless you are told to do by your doctor based on some medical reasons but fat in the blood stream or in the body doesn't work well with the heart and it cause weight gain, Thanks for reading.
